Used engine oil to base oil plant is a full set automatic processing line which can convert used engine oil into different types of lubricant base oil and fuel oil. The whole process consists of pretreatment, flash distillation, vacuum distillation, solvent extraction and solvent recovery.
Our used engine oil to base oil plant generally adopts continuous operation mode and is equipped with automatic control systems such as DCS and GDS.
Its main processes include:
Heating sedimentation separation: that is, settling in a vertical storage tank at an operating temperature of 50-85 degrees Celsius to separate free water and solid impurities from waste engine oil.
Dehydration by flash distillation: that is, the residual water and part of the light oil in the waste oil are separated from the waste engine oil in an atmospheric pressure flash evaporation tower at an operating temperature of 120-180 degrees Celsius.
Vacuum distillation: that is, at an operating temperature of 350-360 degrees Celsius, under a vacuum condition of 500Pa in the tower, the lubricating oil base oil fraction is vaporized in the vacuum distillation tower, and is vaporized from the tower surface and each side line of the vacuum distillation tower. Heavy fuel oil is obtained from the bottom of the pressure reducing tower.
Solvent extraction: In this process, we use solvent extraction column or extraction centrifuges to extract quality lubricant base oil from crude base oil produced by vacuum distillation column. The main solvent we use in this process is NMP (nmethylpyrrolidone).
Solvent recovery: in this process, we use vacuum distillation, nitrogen stripping and dehydration process to recover solvent from refined base oil and extraction reside oil. Recovered solvent will be used for solvent extration repeatedly.
From our used engine oil to base oil plant, below products are produced:
Combustible gas (yield 0.5-1.5%)
Light fuel oil (yield 5-10%)
Base oil crude oil (yield 75-85%)
Heavy fuel oil (yield 5-10%)
