What products can be get from waste tyre pyrolysis

Waste tyre pyrolysis is a process to convert waste tyres into oil, gas, carbon black and steel wires in pyrolysis reactor at high temperature without absence of oxygen.

Waste tire pyrolysis can completely decompose waste tires into four products: fuel oil 35%, carbon black 35%, 15% flammable gas and steel wire 15%, generating certain economic value. Among them, tire pyrolysis oil is a mixture of complex hydrocarbons, and its energy density is as high as 43 MJ/kg, which is equivalent to petroleum-based diesel and fuel oil. The main component of pyrolysis gas is short-chain organic matter, mainly including H2 and C1-C4 hydrocarbon compounds, with a calorific value of 33MJ. After deep processing, carbon black can be used as industrial carbon black and is widely used in rubber, new materials and other fields.

The fuel oil (generally called tire oil) produced by the pyrolysis of waste tires has been tested and analyzed many times by our company and it has been determined that there are more than 140 components. Aromatic hydrocarbon compounds account for more than 75% of the entire oil, and the product properties are similar to low temperature coal tar. It is mainly composed of triaromatic hydrocarbons, tetraaromatic hydrocarbons, pentaaromatic hydrocarbons, dibenzothiophene and benzonaphthothiophene. Hydrogen atoms in methylene (CH2), methyl (CH3) and cycloalkyl groups, as well as hydrogen atoms in aromatic structures, account for more than 80% of the two fuels. Carbon atoms in the paraffin groups (CH2 and CH3) and protonated carbon in the aromatic rings form more than 50% of the carbon atoms in tire oil. Sulfur or its compounds, an important reinforcing agent for rubber products, part of it enters the carbon black during the pyrolysis process, and the other part is transferred to the fuel oil.
